Realistic Lynx 3D Model Rigged for Animation

Rigged Bobcat (Lynx rufus) 3D model—crafted for realism and performance—with clean quad topology for close-up detail and an advanced CAT (Character Animation Toolkit) rig with IK/FK for natural feline motion. Game-ready for games, film/VFX, and AR/VR, it supports easy keyframing or mocap retargeting and drops smoothly into any pipeline.

Textures & Materials

The model includes multiple high-resolution texture maps (in JPG/PNG format) for crisp detail and realistic fur shading. All textures are hand-painted or baked at up to 4K resolution for quality results. Included texture maps:

  • Bobcat_UVs – Base color diffuse map (4096 × 4096 pixels)
  • Bobcat_UVs_Gray – Alternate color variation (4096 × 4096)
  • Bobcat_UVs_Gray-01 – Second pattern variation (4096 × 4096)
  • Bobcat_Normal – Normal map for fine surface details (4096 × 4096)
  • mouth – Mouth interior texture (4096 × 4096)
  • Nails_UVs – Claw textures (4096 × 4096)
  • eyes – Eye texture (1024 × 1024)

All textures and materials are included with the model and properly assigned in every format, so you can achieve great visuals out of the box.

Key Features

  • Realistic Anatomy: Body, teeth, eyes, and claws are separate mesh objects, modeled with accurate proportions and real-world scale. This separation allows easy customization or removal of parts as needed.
  • Clean Topology: The mesh is composed of clean quads (four-sided polygons) for optimal deformation. The topology is optimized at about 6.1k polygons, balancing detail with performance. It’s also subdivision-friendly if you require extra mesh density for close-ups.
  • Easy Customization: All colors and material properties can be easily modified. You can tweak fur coloration, adjust shader settings, or replace textures to match your project’s style without any hassle.
  • Fully Textured: The model comes UV-unwrapped and textured. High-resolution 4K maps are applied, and all necessary textures and materials are included in each file format. What you see in the promos is what you get in the download.
  • Organized Scene: Objects are logically named and grouped for intuitive scene management. There’s no confusion when merging this bobcat into a larger scene – no clashing part names or random pivots. It’s ready to go, with no cleanup required on your end.
  • No Plugins Needed: Open or import the model without any special plugins. The rig and materials use standard tools (CAT rig, standard/Arnold materials) that load up directly in supported software.

Mesh Stats

  • Polygons: 6,167 (quads only)
  • Vertices: 6,539

Rigging & Animation-Ready

The bobcat is rigged in 3ds Max using the CAT system, featuring a full skeletal rig with inverse kinematics (IK) and forward kinematics (FK) controllers. This robust rigging setup enables natural animations of the bobcat’s limbs, spine, and head. It’s perfect for keyframe animation as well as for retargeting existing animations or mocap data. Animators can easily create walks, runs, pounces, and idle poses with realistic feline movement. The rig hierarchy and skin weights export correctly via FBX, so you can also animate or play back the rigged model in other software and game engines. (No preset animations are included, giving you the freedom to animate from scratch.)

Included File Formats

  • FBX – Universal format for exchange (best for importing into Maya, Blender, Unity, Unreal, etc.)
  • DAE (Collada) – Exchange format for broad compatibility
  • OBJ – Static mesh format (geometry, UVs, and materials)

All exchange formats have been exported directly from 3ds Max and tested to ensure they import correctly in popular 3D software and real-time engines. You can choose the format that best fits your pipeline, knowing that the model will load with its textures and proper scale.

Native 3ds Max Files

  • 3ds Max 2023 Scene: The native .max file with the full CAT rig (IK/FK controls). Units are set to centimeters, and the model is at real-world scale for easy merging into scenes.
  • Materials & Shaders: The Max scene includes materials for both the standard scanline renderer and Arnold renderer. It’s optimized for Autodesk’s Arnold 5.x for great out-of-the-box renders. No third-party plugins are required – all shaders are native to 3ds Max/Arnold.
  • Renderer Compatibility: The model’s materials are tuned for Arnold,

Ideal for use in realistic wildlife visualizations, game characters, immersive AR/VR experiences, educational simulations, and cinematic VFX scenes – anywhere a bobcat rigged with authentic detail is needed to bring your vision to life.
